Hi everyone! Sandy here. Took a quick break but I’m back to share with you a slice of heaven. A 12-acre spot located in Ojai Valley (about 1.5-2 hours north of LA) called Earth Trine Farms! This place has become one of my favourite locations for inspiration. Not just for its produce but also to simply be present in!

 

I was introduced to Farmer BD and Earth Trine via my very good friend and chef Chase Elder (@friendoffarmers) and have consistently been floored by the absolute love and care given in cultivating these fruit and vegetables. 

 

 

 

 

 

This organic farm was founded by Robert BD Dautch (Farmer BD) and is well known for a large variety of herbs, beautiful edible flowers, citrus and a wide assortment of greens - lettuces, chards, the most perfect torpedo onions! 

 

 

Working closely alongside him is Carlos Diaz who I got the pleasure of hanging out with the day I came for a visit. We walked the entire property together and I got to see, taste and smell everything! We found wild blooming artichokes and pink peppercorns that grow abundantly in the valley. We also harvested Sungold tomatoes, yellow summer squash, citrus and baby radishes. 

 

 

 

 

If you’re looking for a little healing nature time, you can safely visit the farm on Tuesdays and Fridays where you’ll find a farm stand for direct farm to consumer purchasing - highly recommended! Or you can do a day trip out to Ojai on Sunday and look for the Earth Trine Farms banner at the Ojai farmers market.
