Designer Spotlight: Toga Pulla

Designer Spotlight: Japanese Fashion Brand Toga
by Julia Zimmelman and Chynna James

I love shoes... It's almost a problem. Toga Pulla is one of my favorite brands because they are comfortable, edgy and chic. They are unique and still are easy to pair with any kind of clothing which is a dream!

About Toga Pulla Designer: Yasuku Furuta / The Collection

Category: Japanese Fashion, Avant-Garde, Tailoring, Leather

A best-kept secret among fashion insiders, Toga was founded by Tokyo-based designer Yasuku Furata in 1997. The graduate of Paris' prestigious ESMOD school has become known for reworking Western styles with Japanese concepts of silhouette, volume, and textile contrast, resulting in a colorful and deconstructed aesthetic.

The line proposes a collection of shoes with an urban, destroyed and avant-garde look, known for the impression of leather and research metalworks that distinguish the aesthetic of the brand

Toga Pulla combines Japanese craftsmanship with touchstones of Americana for a high-impact, cross-cultural effect. Buckle detailing and Cuban heels captures a quintessentially Western influence contrasting against sculptural, clean lined separates typifying Eastern design. Browse the collection of multi-strap boots in lace-up, cut out and embellished styles for fresh takes on a brand hallmark.
